During our more than 15 years in supporting and educating people with autism, learning disabilities, and other neurodiversities and challenges, we have found some resources more useful than others
We wanted to share some of the best we have found to make the search easier for parents, professionals, and individuals who need support.
Below, there is information and tools around autism, Special Education Needs (SEN), and reasonable adjustments, among others.

What is Autism?
Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition which typically results in challenges in social interaction and communication, and with sensory processing.
Autism is a spectrum condition, meaning each autistic person can show a very different combination of autistic traits - once you have met one autistic person, you have only met one autistic person

Education Support
SENDIASS stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service.
It’s a free, impartial, and confidential service offering information to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and to their parents and carers.
There is a SENDIAS Service in every local authority in England.


Health Passports
The health and care passport is designed to be a quick and easy way to give health and social care professionals more information about you to help them provide right care and treatment.
It should help them understand what reasonable adjustments you need and how to communicate effectively so your voice is always heard.
There are many versions of the hospital passport, all of which should be accepted. Here is the NHS England guidance and template:
Health Adjustment Passport for Work
This passport can be used if you have a disability or health condition that makes it harder for you to move into work or stay in a job. This passport can be used to:

Support you to identify what support and changes (known as reasonable adjustments) you may need when you are in work or moving into work

Help you to apply for support from Access to Work, including funding for specialist equipment, transport, or services such as job coaching

Help you talk to employers about adjustments and in-work support that you may need, so
